Alemango Residence

Chagrin Falls, Ohio

The house is a dynamic composition of six intertwining floor levels, gently cascading around a central living room anchored by a massive masonry fireplace. Each level connects seamlessly—lofts overlook the space, while the kitchen and entry are just steps away. Despite its multi-level complexity, the design preserves a low, horizontal profile.

  • The ground-level kitchen embraces the fireplace's masonry mass, incorporating a wood-fired pizza oven. Adjacent and a couple steps up is the grand living room with an outdoor balcony overlooking a pond. The master suite, slightly elevated and nested between floors, offers privacy and tranquility. The highest space is a small sanctum, a few steps up from the master suite’s entry, featuring a small balcony that overlooks the living room below.

The lower level is just few steps down from the main entry where you will find a home theater and lounge, exercise room, and tucked into the earth, a wine cellar. Also on this level which steps out to grade is a suite of two guest rooms and bath.

The house is designed to accommodate large family gatherings, allowing everyone to feel connected while still providing distinct spaces for different groups to interact or retreat.
